April is Autism Awareness Month and Learning for Life is celebrating with our fifth Autism AbiliTEA! It’s all about bringing awareness to autism, and celebrating autistic people and their abilities, strengths and voices. After our 2020 AbiliTEAs were from a distance, we’re excited for our Village to once again host their AbiliTEA with their family and friends, to bring awareness, acceptance and appreciation about autism and people living with autism.

In February 2021, Learning for Life, represented by Emma Miller and Sarah Wood, was invited to present at the Senate Inquiry following L4Life’s written submission in June 2020 to the Federal Government’s Select Committee on Autism.

Claire Birrell and Elisha Mont, two of Learning for Life’s Clinical Supervisors, have each officially become a BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst). Congratulations Claire and Elisha!

The Learning for Life Autism Centre is seeking a committed and passionate individual to join our board of directors. We are keen to hear from applicants who can bring specific professional experience (such as finance or legal) or who are able to contribute to diversity of voices and experiences in our governance process.

After bidding farewell to Carol Barclay, our office manager of 11 years, L4Life welcomes Lauren Elevato, L4Life’s Office and Finance Administrator, to our team. 

Our friends at Autism CRC recently released the digital edition of the Secret Agent Society (SAS) small group Social Skills Program.

As Learning for Life Autism Centre grows to service more families and schools across Victoria, our staffing and compliance requirements are also increasing. To support this growth, we have recently welcomed Victoria Crane, a former Learning for Life Board member, to the position of General Manager – Operations.
