For each of the last nine years, a quiet and generous person in our L4Life Village has provided our L4Life full service model kids with beautiful, hand-made with love gifts at our end-of-year party.

Our Learning for Life Village is made up of wonderful people from the children/families, staff and supporters. We are saying farewell one of our long-term loyal staff members, Carol Barclay, our Office Manager who is an integral part of our team and has been serving our community for 11 years.

Learning For Life continued to provide essential services to children with Autism and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this challenging and unprecedented year, our L4Life staff, children, families, Board and supporters worked and learned throughout. ‘Good Job Village’ is our end-of-year social campaign to say well done and share a big thank you to these L4Life Village members; it’s about being positive and showing our gratitude with an uplifting message of support for our Village.

To start off term three school holidays with some fun, we challenged all the LEGO®-lovers in our L4Life Village to build something starting with the letter ‘C’. And our awesome Village community got building! 

In August 2020, Learning for Life held a virtual discussion session for our L4Life parents, revolving around strategies to positively engage with their child/children during ‘lockdown’ and beyond. There was a short presentation by L4Life consultants of the Lovaas Institute, Scott and Linda Wright, followed by a live Q&A.

In August 2020, Learning For Life’s Co-Founder and Chair, Mary Muirhead participated in a virtual panel discussion inspired by the work of the charity Igniting Change and it’s amazing founder, Jane Tewson CBE.

Claire Birrell and Elisha Mont, two of Learning For Life’s Clinical Supervisors, recently graduated to receive their Masters of Education specialising in in ABA Therapy, from Monash University.

Our yearly Village participation and fundraising event, Run Melbourne, did not go ahead as usual in 2020 under the circumstances of COVID-19. But we still wanted to bring our Team L4Life together (while staying apart) and get moving during the cold and isolated winter. So instead, our community participated in our challenge: L4Life Village in Motion.
