Keeping you updated on how Learning For Life Autism Centre is taking care of families and team members.

Last updated: 10 November 2020

Dear Friends of L4Life,

Our hope is that you, your families, colleagues and communities are healthy and managing the changes and challenges that COVID-19 is bringing daily around Australia and the world.

Below we would like to share updates on how The Learning For Life Autism Centre is adapting during this period:

Returning to normal therapy delivery
With restrictions lifting in Melbourne as of 9 Nov 2020, we are returning to our normal therapy delivery, with therapists being assigned to multiple families.

L4Life has provided support to all therapists in acquiring masks, so they can to continue to deliver therapy safely, and requires all staff and families to wear a mask during key times of their therapy sessions.

We continue to put therapy on hold whenever a client, their family, or a therapist is showing cold or flu-like symptoms. Anyone showing symptoms are being required to contact the COVID hotline and be tested.

Going virtual and staying mindful of keeping our distance
Our teams, including out therapy supervisors, are meeting regularly on Zoom to roll with the changes.

We’re also looking at transitioning many of our well-loved annual events and fundraisers from in-person to digital. Our Village has been a powerhouse of friendship, care and concern, and we are forever grateful for every one of you right now. This year we will need your support more than ever.

Internally and amongst staff, we have decided not to hold our annual staff end-of-year party regardless of restriction levels, in order to reduce any risk to therapy delivery for our families that results from a positive Covid-19 test. We are continuing to brainstorm potential ways to stay connected.

Check back to our News & Events page for more information.

Keeping our Village up to date using social media
The fastest and easiest way for us to communicate changes, news and stories is via our social media channels – particularly Facebook and Instagram.

We invite you to connect with us there and look forward to saying hello!
